Webineyes is an Independent Provider of Online Professional Continuing Education for Eye Care Professionals. We arrange Courses including: LIVE Webinars; Virtual Classrooms; Conferences; and Recorded Lectures, on various topics by presenters from around the world. Courses are viewable within the Courses page where you can read about Course content and Presenters. You can buy access to our Courses on this website. Completion Certificates and Continued Education (CET) points are available. CET available in the UK, Finland and selected other countries. Please check individual Course Descriptions for more information.
You can find these within the Courses Page, together with a description of each Course’s content, Presenter and availability of CET points. Other learning resources may also be made available to you in PDF format.
You can get access to our Courses by going to the Courses page and clicking Buy Access and following the payment instructions. You can also navigate there by clicking the Buy Access button anywhere within our site. When you have purchased access to your chosen Course, you will receive a confirmation email with your password. Your email is your user name. You then have access to your Course.
You can view the price in your currency when you buy access. We provide prices in Euros, USD and GBP as commonly used international currencies. For other currencies, we advise that you check this using a reliable source such as Google. Your payment will be handled in Euros in our payment system as Webineyes is domiciled in Finland, which belongs to the European Union.
All LIVE webinars commence at 19:00pm UK time which is 20:00 Central European time and 21:00pm Helsinki time. Access is global and we advise you to check the time in your own country using a reliable source such as Google.
Recorded Courses, such as Recorded Lectures may be viewed anytime 24/7.
In our website, log into My Account using your username and password. (If you do not have an account, you will need to Buy Access first).
Next, navigate to the Courses page on our website and register on the Course using the Register button (you can also do this within your account dashboard if wished). This will transfer you to Zoom, the Course platform, which will then register you onto the LIVE or Recorded Virtual Class or Webinar.
For LIVE courses such as LIVE Virtual Classroom or Webinars, Zoom will send you an email containing your personalised link and everything you need to know in order to join on the day/time of class. (it will also send you a reminder one hour beforehand). We also advise you to use the option within that email to add to your calendar (popular calendar options available include Google and Outlook).
For Recorded Courses such as Recorded Lectures, Zoom will send you an email containing your personalised link. You can access these anytime 24/7, throughout the validity of your access dates as described within the Course Description.
On your behalf, Webineyes needs to be able to provide a clear audit trail of your participation in case you apply for Continued Education Points (CET). From time to time, an approving association may ask for our evidence that you have fully participated in a Course from beginning to end. Therefore, through Zoom, we can prove your Purchase, Registration and Attendance on a specific LIVE Class, Webinar or Recorded lecture (start, duration and end). This evidences your CET/CE application. In any event, it allows us to provide you with a personalised certificate for your own records.
Yes, you can. Although due to smartphone functionality and screen size, you may not be able to take the full benefits from the session such as poll interaction. Our recommendation is to use a laptop or standalone device where possible or if not, a tablet computer.
You may join with or without these as you will not usually be required to speak. Listening may be done using the speakers of your device. However, if you are in a noisy environment, headphones will greatly improve your experience. If you are in a Virtual Classroom Class where verbal interaction is described as available within the Course description, then we will advise you to use Headphones with a Microphone. Verbal or Chat interaction is never mandatory no matter what the Course format and you can either participate or just relax and learn. Recorded Courses do not include interaction opportunities.
We recommend that you are present 10 minutes before it is due to start and check:
We encourage participants to contribute comments, questions and additional information (also relevant website links) and perspectives during the Class or Webinar. You can do this within the Q&A box by typing into it. There is no requirement to do this (nor by any continued education points awarding association) if you do not wish to do so. Recorded Lectures (webinars) do not have any interaction available.
You will gain maximum benefit from our LIVE Classes or webinars by participating fully from the start until the end.
To be able to apply for interactive continuous education points (CET / CE) you are required to participate from beginning to end. Webineyes may also be required to report on your participation to your points-approving associations if you apply for this.
However, if you do have a problem in a LIVE Class or Webinar, then the learning opportunity still remains, as we will provide you with the recording and resources (if indicated) after the webinar ends (for a limited time). You can still then earn CET points from watching the recordings. Recorded lectures may be watched at anytime 24/7 and if your connection drops, then please watch the lecture again at your convenience.
We operate a continuing professional and personal education service and our Courses normally attract CET points.
In addition, we may also provide other valuable personal development webinars, from time to time, which may not be applicable for points but have been selected for their value for Eyecare Professionals.
You can see the availability of CET points that have either been approved (or have an application in progress) within the description page of each Course. You can also read more about CET by clicking the link.
We gain pre-approval for these points and provide you with a link to a quiz to support your learning, at the end of the Class or Webinar. If you require CET, you should take the quiz. Successful completion of the quiz will result in the provision of a downloadable certificate. You may attempt the quiz as many times as you wish. We will then provide your name and CET completion pass to your governing association, for example, the GOC in the UK.
If you wish to apply for CET points, whether interactive (LIVE) or general (Recorded), you must participate in the LIVE or Recorded webinar from beginning to end.
Some topics are only relevant for specific professions and some offer wider accreditation to several. The application and pre-approval of points depend upon the presenter, subject matter, content and country approving association. If a Class or webinar is accredited for CET in your country and there is an appropriate system for this (such as in the UK), we will upload the participant list to your governing association, within 10 days of the event. Otherwise, you should apply to your association for points as usual.
If Webineyes is not yet offering CET/CE points for your country and/or profession, please email us at email@example.com and we will discuss this opportunity with you for potential future addition. You may even wish to become an Ambassador for your country and help us to make it happen!
The Quiz contains 10 Multiple choice questions with 4 answer options. You can enter the Quiz from the link within the course resources on our website, directly after the LIVE Webinar or Recorded Lecture has ended. A 70% pass is required for a certificate and CET point (if relevant). You can retake the quiz as many times as you like. You can complete the Quiz within 3 days of viewing a LIVE Class or Webinar.
Any Presenter, whether an expert or new talent can be considered to join the Webineyes Presenting Team. The important thing is that they must have at least one specialist topic which is valuable for our Eyecare Professional participants. If their session is clinical or optical, it should be approvable for continued education (we help with this application). They should also be able to confidently present (however, we also provide training specifically for online presentations). If there are specific presenters (or topics) that you wish to see within our events, please send us their details or request them to contact Webineyes directly. We also actively encourage new talent, so perhaps the next presenter could be you?
Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to help you.
