Ocular trauma is a group of conditions commonly seen in optometric practice. It can vary from a mild corneal abrasion to a complete globe rupture. Eyecare Professionals must be able to manage these occurrences adequately to prevent complications. The purpose of this session is to discuss the different clinical presentations of various traumatic events and the necessary therapeutic management required for each case.

The following ocular surface traumatic events will be covered: Corneal abrasions; Foreign bodies; Superficial lacerations; Radiation keratitis; Traumatic uveitis; Penetrating/full-thickness lacerations; Chemical burns; Recurrent corneal erosions and Globe rupture.
